Course description
Welcome outdoor lovers, nature lovers, survivalists and adventurers. We provide hands-on experience with survival techniques, adapted to the tropical climates.
You don’t need to have any tropical survival skills, we teach you those.
If you have prior knowledge you are welcome to dive deeper into the skills and practice them.
We provide you with food and water and we cook together on an open fire with local food.
We will not be hiking a lot into the jungle, just to the stream nearby to refresh ourselves. You still need good footwear. We will be sleeping outside in a swamped which was build already. We provide a mosquito net. If you like to sleep in your own hammock with mosquito net, you are welcome to hang it up, but be sure to bring a tarp with you. Here in the tropical rainforest a rain shower can always come.

Sonja Wittmann
I am an outdoor enthusiast and survival teacher. My journey into survival began with training as a wilderness educator by Dirk Schröder (elementar-erfahrungen.de). Afterwards I trained with two more masters, Jürgen Gerzabeck (earthlivingmastery.de) and Tom Brown jr. (trackerschool.com).
I was trained in building shelter, making fire, finding and purifying water, herbal medicine, edible plants, outdoor first aid, deep awareness and many other ancient crafts.
For me, survival in nature is not a struggle but a coming home to the place where we belong. With the right skills and mindset, like respecting and honoring the earth, I discovered that nature provides everything I need. One of the most powerful moments in my life was learning to create fire using the friction method. It was an incredible experience to witness the birth of an ember and transform it into flame with my own breath. Another transformative experience was when I spent several days alone in the woods, without any equipment. I found a water source, built a shelter and felt a profound connection to both myself and mother earth. I felt the protection and guidance by the forces of nature, something I strive to help others discover.
My mission is to preserve, protect and spread the ancient knowledge. This sacred medicine path is for the earth and humanity. I look forward to sharing this unique place with like-minded people.
Ivo Knoll
My name is Ivo, born in 1967 in South Tyrol, Italy. I’m happily married and a proud father of two sons. I coach people to break free from monotony, to thrive in both life and work—and I love spending time in nature.
My journey into outdoor survival began in 2012, and from the first class I was hooked. I was fortunate to learn from masters like Jürgen Gerzabeck and Tom Brown Jr., their approach taught me that survival isn’t about escaping from nature—it’s about reconnecting with it. All you need are the right skills.
What I love most is the freedom that comes with knowing how to live comfortably outdoors, even where others might feel fear—even with all their equipment. But what if that equipment fails? What will then happen?
My mission is to help as many people as possible have similarly transformative experiences. Reconnecting with nature gives you confidence, freedom, and inner strength. When you truly feel that connection, the daily struggles and hustle lose their power over you.
I am incredibly grateful to walk this path, and it’s a joy to share not only the practical skills and techniques but also the mindset and philosophy needed to fully appreciate and honor the natural world.
